A unique creative expression program designed to empower people affected by cycles of harm and the criminal legal system. This initiative invites crime survivors, family members, reentry professionals, and system-impacted people to share their experiences and creativity, fostering healing and community connection.

Submission Guidelines: Many Truths – Breaking Down False Dichotomies
We invite submissions of: original visual art, music (no longer than 5 minutes) photography, poetry, or short stories (no more than 500 words) for inclusion in a curated collection, online gallery opening, and art sale.
Themes: Many Truths, Healing, Connection, System Impacts, Impacts of Harm, Surviving, Thriving, Restorative Practice
Why participate?
- Foster Connection: Build community through artistic expression of shared humanity and experiences.
- Explore Self-Healing: Use creative expression as a tool for reflection.
- Challenge Narratives: Help dismantle harmful binaries and promote empathy.
Submission Format:
- Submit up to three (3) original pieces per person.
- All visual art (2 dimensional) and photography must be submitted as high-resolution JPG files (minimum 300 DPI, at least 1200 pixels on the longest side) to ensure suitability for both online and print exhibition.
- 3 dimensional art may be photographed but must include either a video showing all sides of piece or high resolution photos of each side of the piece (minimum 300 DPI, at least 1200 pixels on the longest side)
- All audio files (mp3) must be 5MB or less
- Each image/file must be titled as follows: “Artist Initials_Title_Submission#”
- Written works should be submitted as Word documents or PDFs.

Entries without all required information, unfortunately may not be included.
3. Designate if Art is for Sale & Price Accordingly
Artists may (but are not required to) offer their artwork for sale on our online platform. 60% of the sale will return to the artist and 40% will benefit the missions of RAA and UV4SOR, so artists must price the artwork accordingly - RAA will not price artwork. PLEASE DO NOT SEND ORIGINAL ARTWORK TO RAA. If a piece sells, the artist or their representative must agree to pack and ship the piece at the expense of the buyer.

- Crime survivors
- Family members
- System-impacted individuals
- Reentry professionals

You may choose to have your work displayed anonymously or credited by name. Please specify your preference when submitting.

The next round of submissions will be taken until September 15, 2026.
Important Notes:
- Do not submit original artwork; RAA and United Voices are not responsible for items lost or damaged in transit.
- Selected works will be included in a virtual gallery and may be considered for future print publication.
Terms & Conditions
By submitting an entry, the Artist grants permission for Restorative Action Alliance to use the accepted image on its website at restorativeactionalliance.org, for brochures, promotional materials, publications, and publicity about the exhibition, both physical and virtual. Every effort will be made to maintain quality true to the submitted image, recognizing that the print or electronic medium may affect how the viewer receives the image. Artist will be given attribution for the work. The Artist hereby certifies that he or she holds the copyright for this material and the copyright remains with said Artist. Restorative Action Alliance will display a notice that material must not be “downloaded” or copied, but will not be held responsible if artwork is copied. The Artist also certifies that the work submitted is original and does not infringe on any existing copyright. If artwork includes image of any person, artist certifies that a model release for such people has been obtained. Furthermore, if the accepted work differs dramatically from the image submitted, RAA reserves the right to return the work to the Artist without hanging in the exhibition. By submitting work, the Artist acknowledges and understands the above provisions and has read and agreed with the provisions in the Call for Entry at https://www.restorativeactionalliance.org/many_truths_program
